Do I need Houston commercial car insurance?

Good question.

I work from home, so at first I was wondering if the fact that I need my car to do errands for my business at times meant that I needed Houston commercial car insurance. Well, I was able to figure it out.

First of all, it really depends on just what kind of driving you do for your business. If you crash your car while on a business trip and your company finds out, they may be reluctant to cover you. Some will allow you to keep your personal policy so long as you occasionally use it for business. Some things, such as delivering supplies or people, pretty much require that you have Houston commercial car insurance.

Other than that, I basically go by the rule that if 50% of my time I am using my car for business rather than personal needs, then I need to buy a commercial car insurance policy.
